RIO VERDE, Ariz. - The Red Raider women's golf team finished the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational with its top finish of the spring as Texas Tech placed fifth of 18. The team turned in scores of 300-304-302--906, 42-over-par, to earn its second-highest placing of the 2006-07 year.

For the second time this season, two individual Red Raiders finished in the top 10 as both Rosalyn Kim and Ulrika Van Niekerk tied for ninth. Kim carded rounds of 74-78-71--223 to notch her career 18- and 54-hole low as well as her top finish. Van Niekerk fired scores of 74-74-75--223 to mark her career top finish and her second top-20 placing this spring.

Gloriana Soto finished in a tie for 35th after turning in rounds of 76-74-80--230. Megan Dowdy had her lowest round during the final 18 holes, ending the Rio Verde with rounds of 78-78-76--232 to tie for 43rd. In their first spring competition, Tracy Stanford tied for 69th with rounds of 76-80-82--238 and Brynn Anderson carded scores of 80-79-82--241 to tie for 79th.

Regaining the lead and taking the team title was Baylor as they had scores of 289-300-297--886, 22-over-par. Bear Allison Martin maintained the individual title and ended with rounds of 69-72-71--212 to finish 4-under-par.
