LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech officials announced today an agreement with the University of Nevada for the two programs to meet on the football field during the 2008 and 2011 seasons.
The first game, which will be played in Reno, is scheduled for Sept. 6, 2008, and will mark the first meeting between the two schools. The second game of the two-game agreement will kickoff Sept. 24, 2011, at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock.
The Red Raiders have faced three other current members of the Western Athletic Conference, but have never shared the field with the Wolfpack. Against those three schools, Texas Tech is a combined 8-1 with wins over Fresno State, Utah State, Louisiana Tech and New Mexico State while the lone loss came against San Jose State in the 1949 Raisin Bowl.
The remainder of the 2008 football schedule will be released at a later date.
