- Texas Tech suffered back-to-back shutouts for the first time since the 2004 season when Tech dropped two games to Texas at Dan Law Field 4-0 and 10-0.
- Texas Tech honored its six senior prior to the start of the game (Aaron Odom, Chris Ortmeier, Colt Hynes, Trey Schurr, Travis Young and Kyle Martin).
