- Texas Tech (27-26) has now lost seven-straight games to Oklahoma at L. Dale Mitchell park and eight overall. Tech's last win against the Sooners here was back on April 20, 2001 when current Director of Baseball Operations Brandon Roberson logged 8 1/3 innings allowing just three runs in a 9-3 win.
- Texas Tech extended its school record Big 12 losing skid to eight games with tonight's loss to Oklahoma. Tech's last Big 12 win was a 3-1 decision against Kansas back on April 21st in Lubbock.
- AJ Ramos has now dropped his last three decisions and fell to 8-5 on the season. His last win was a complete game shutout against Kansas back on April 20.
- Doug Thennis led the Red Raider offense with a career-high four hits in the game and drove in one run in the ninth inning.
