
Texas Tech Holds Off Wichita State, 72-69

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) -- A 3-pointer by Texas Tech's Mike Singletary with 4.2 seconds left on the clock gave the Red Raiders a 72-69 victory over Wichita State Wednesday night.
Wichita St.'s (3-4) Clevin Hannah had 24 points while A.J. Hawkins had 18.
Tech (7-1) gained the advantage early with a 43-26 lead heading into halftime, the largest of the game. The advantage was soon erased as Wichita St. opened the second half on a 12-3 run, marking the first time Tech's lead was at single digits since the six-minute mark in the first half.
Singletary scored the final five points for Tech, including the late 3-pointer to put Tech up by three with 4.2 seconds left.
Alan Voskuil and John Roberson had 20 point apiece on the night.
