Track Travels for Last Chance Qualifier Meets

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's track athletes will be sent across the country for one last chance to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships. The men's DMR will be at Notre Dame, the men's 4x400M relay at Iowa State and three field event participants will be headed to the University of Washington to compete.
The men's DMR of Edwin Sang, Zach Plinario, Silas Kemboi and Gilbert Limo will look to improve on a season best time of 9:45.93. The relay will be run at Notre Dame on Fri. at 9:15 p.m. The University of Texas currently leads the nation with a NCAA record time of 9:25.97.
The men's 4x400M relay time of 3:08.38 is currently the 13th fastest time in the nation. A combination of Lamont Adams, Tim Foster, Shawon Harris, Jansen Hyde, Bill Lawhorn and Gil Roberts will run for Tech at Iowa State. Florida has the fastest time in the nation with a 3:06.48. The relay will run on Sat. at 4:00 p.m.
The University of Washington will serve host to Tech's pole vaulters and long jumper on Saturday. Brian Porter is currently ranked tenth in the nation with a height of 17'-6.50". Kelley Schulz is ranked 53rd in the nation with a season best height of 12'-11.50". The lone long jumper is Anthony Flemons. He is ranked 16th in the nation in the long jump with a mark of 25'-4" and ninth ranked in the triple jump with a distance of 52'-2".
