
81st Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays Awaits Red Raiders

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech is headed to Austin, Texas to compete in the 81st Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. Thirty-five student-athletes will be competing during the four day event.
Wednesday will be the first day of events as Julianne Kennedy will be competing in the heptathlon. Thursday will have Kennedy finished the heptathlon and Jasmine Flournoy, Sandra Iwunze, Jansen Hyde and Wouter LeRoux running in the prelims of the 400M hurdles. Brian Porter will look to better his fourth place finish in the pole vault from a year ago.
The majority of the Red Raiders will start competing on Friday. The men will have the 4x100M relay start at 9:30 a.m. followed by Shawon Harris, Jansen Hyde and Omo Osaghae run the 110M hurdles. Julius Walker and Skye Green will run the 100M to cap off the men's running events. Bobby Evers will compete in the long jump and Anthony Flemons will pull double duty in the long and triple jumps. The throwers will have Tyler Menges and Harrison Benjamin in the shot put as well as Brett McDaniel (discus) and Michael Cast (javelin) competing.
The women will have Sandra Iwunze run the 100M hurdles followed by the prelims of the 4x400M relay. The Lady Raiders will have Kelsey Lloyd (high jump), Kennedy (high jump), Kelley Schulz (pole vault), Ozie Okolie (hammer throw), D'Andra Carter (discus) and Patience Knight (discus) compete in various field events.
Saturday will be mostly finals as the men and women will both run a distance medley relay. The finals of the 110M hurdles and 100M starting at 2:45 p.m. and finishing the weekend will be the men's 4x400M relay. Justin Turner will be in the high jump and Carter and Knight will be throwing the shot put as well.
