Tech to Host Red Raider Open

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech will be hosting its only home meet of the outdoor season on Sat. at R.P. Fuller Stadium. Field events start at 12 p.m. and the running events are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.

The Red Raiders are hoping for repeat results from last year's Texas Tech Open. Tech finished last year's meet with 17 first-place finishes and eight regional marks. Sandra Iwunze set the 400M hurdles record at the meet last year. Numerous school and stadium records have the potential to fall this Sat.

The competition will be coming from various places such as Abilene Christian, Eastern New Mexico, New Mexico Military Institute, New Mexico JC, Wayland Baptist and South Plains.

The javelin will be the first event at 12 p.m. and the first running event will be the 3K steeple chase which begins at 5:30 p.m. Live results, a recap and final results can be found by logging onto www.texastech.com.
