Men's Hurdlers Send Three to Finals at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa - A cold day in Des Moines, Iowa didn't stop Texas Tech from posting five NCAA Regional marks and sending three to finals in the hurdles.
All three of Tech's 110M hurdlers advanced to the finals at 2:40 p.m. on Saturday. Shawon Harris ran the fastest prelim time of 13.78. Jansen Hyde ran a 14.10 the fifth fastest time and Omo Osaghe qualified eighth with a time of 14.18. Each of the Red Raiders times were NCAA Regional qualifying times.
Mike Cast threw a new personal best in the javelin in less than ideal conditions. He finished in fifth with a NCAA Regional throw of 220'-6".
For the second week in a row Kelley Schulz cleared a NCAA Regional mark. Her height of 12'-7.50" was good for an eighth place finish.
Bobby Evers finished with a distance of 23'-8.25" in the long jump to finish in seventh place.
The Red Raiders will start competing at the Oklahoma Invitational starting with the javelin at 10 a.m. and will continue competition at the Drake Relays starting at 10 a.m.
