
Three-Run Sixth Lifts Black to 8-5 Win

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Black Team defeated the Red Team 8-5 in game three of the Texas Tech Baseball Red & Black Series Tuesday at Dan Law Field. The Black team has won two straight, giving them a 2-1 lead in the five-game series.
- The game was a scheduled seven-inning contest.
- Freshman David Paiz pitched one inning to earn the win and freshman Trey Masek recorded the final four outs of the game to pick up his second save in as many days.
- With the score tied 5-5 in the top of the sixth inning, the Black Team had four base hits, including back-to-back two-out, run-scoring base hits from Kelby Tomlinson (game-winning RBI single) and Bo Altobelli (two-run single).
- The Black Team had four players with multi-hit games.
- The Red Team left 13 runners on base.
