Starting the Game
Jordan Barncastle (F), Teena Wickett (F), Kierra Mallard (C), Casey Morris (G) and Monique Smalls (G) started for the Lady Raiders. The Bearkats sent out Britni Martin (F), Sequeena Thomas (F), LaTisha Morgan (C), Khamra Echols (G) and Chanice Smith (G) for the tip-off.
At the Half
Tech led, 32-21.
Casey Morris and Kierra Mallard led the Lady Raiders with nine points and Mallard also led with eight rebounds.
Chanice Smith led the Bearkats with six points and Sequeena Thomas led with five rebounds.
The Lady Raiders outrebounded the Bearkats 26-22.
Tech forced 12 Sam Houston State turnovers while only allowing nine.
The Lady Raiders had 10 steals and only gave up four.
Tech shot 34.3 percent from the floor while Sam Houston State shot 25.9 percent.

Casey Morris led the Lady Raiders with 17 points and Kierra Mallard led with 11 rebounds.
Sequeena Thomas led the Bearkats with 20 points and 16 rebounds.
Tech outrebounded Sam Houston State 51-44.
The Lady Raiders had 16 steals while only giving up seven.
Tech had 16 assists while American had eight.
Kierra Mallard recorded her first double-double of the season and 10th of her career with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Casey Morris tied career highs of five three-pointers and four steals. Teena Wickett also added a career-high four steals.
Both Casey Morris and Teena Wickett were selected to the World Vision Classic All-Tournament team and Kierra Mallard was selected as the tournament MVP.
