Women's Golf In Second Place After Round One

LAWRENCE, Kan. - The first day of the 2010 Big 12 Conference Women's Golf Championships in Norman, Okla., is in the books and the No. 43 Texas Tech Lady Raiders are standing in second place after firing a first round score of 299 to stand at 11-over par.
Senior Rosalyn Kim paced the squad in the first round with a score of 71 and is currently in third place at 1-under par.
"I am really proud of Rosalyn because she went out there and did what a senior is supposed to do," said Tech head coach JoJo Robertson. She played very well and I know she has a lot of expectations for herself and this team."
Junior Alex Gibson also finished in the top 20 after the first round as she turned in a score of 75 to finish 3-over. Freshmen Gabby Dominguez enters tomorrow's second round in a tie for 21st (76/4-over) while Kim Kaufman is tied for 28th after a first round total of 77 (5-over).
No. 26 Oklahoma State is the tournament leader with a first round score of 293 (5-over) while Iowa State is one stroke behind Texas Tech at 300 (12-over).
Texas Tech will begin teeing off in the second round of tournament play beginning at 8:50 a.m. on Saturday at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club.
