Limo Named Co-Big 12 Athlete of the Week

LUBBOCK, Texas - Junior Red Raider Gilbert Limo was named Co-Big 12 Athlete of the Week with Kansas' Mason Finley after his performance at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational in Berkeley, Calif.this past weekend.

Limo recorded the third-best time in the NCAA in the 3000M steeplechase, clocking an 8:42.99. The junior took second in the event at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational. His time was just one second off his personal best. It is Limo's first award of his career and second for a Tech athlete during the outdoor season.

Tech will host Nebraska this weekend at the Terry and Linda Fuller Track for a dual meet this Saturday. Field events begin at 2 p.m. and running will start at 6 p.m. Fans who buy tickets to Saturday's baseball game against Missouri will receive free admission into the track meet.
