Tech Relay Squad to be Honored Tuesday
December 12, 2011 | Track and Field
LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's track and field squad will be recognized at the annual USTFCCA Convention in San Antonio on Tuesday morning.
The 2011 shuttle-hurdle relay team, comprised of Omo Osaghae, Brandon Tucker, Jamele Mason, and Shane Brathwaite will be honored by Accusplit as one of the top relay squads in the country.
The group ran a time of 54.67 last season to win the event at the Penn Relays. The time broke the school record by two seconds, and was the third fastest time collegiately. Last season's win marked the first time in school history that a Red Raider shuttle-hurdle squad had won the event at the Penn Relays.
The shuttle-hurdle relay team will look to continue its success this season as Tucker, Mason and Brathwaite all return from the record-setting squad.
