Tech Track Sending 11 to NCAA Indoor Championships

LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 25 Red Raiders and No. 23 Lady Raider will be sending 11 student-athletes to compete in 11 events at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships to be held in College Station, Texas, in the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium.
The men will be sending Bryce Brown (60M hurdles), Bryce Lamb (long jump), Gil Roberts (400M) and Darrell Roddick (triple jump, high jump). Lamb sits No. 6 on the long jump list and Roddick is tied for No.1 1 in the high jump and No. 8 in the triple jump. Roddick is the only student-athlete to be qualified in both the high jump and triple jump.
The women are sending four individuals and the distance medley relay. It is the second-straight year the distance medley relay has qualified for nationals. The group is No. 11 on the NCAA list. Relay member Purity Biwott made the 800M race with her personal best of 2:05.80. Shade Weygandt is No. 3 in the pole vault with a personal best of 14'-5.25". Kelley Closse (shot put, weight throw) and Ifeatu Okafor (shot put) made the NCAA Indoor Championships.
The NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held in the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, and will start Friday, March 11 and conclude on Saturday, March 12.
