LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech track & field program added Lubbock Coronado standout triple jumper Travis Dunn to its 2011 signing class announced by head coach Wes Kittley.
"I am so excited to get Travis," Kittley said. "I think he has tremendous potential and is a great all-around athlete in various sports. I am even more excited for him because he wanted to come to Tech and be a Red Raider."
Dunn has the best triple jump mark in the state of Texas at 50`-7.50" and is currently ranked No. 2 in the United States. He recently won the district 2-5A triple jump championship by setting a meet record with his jump of 48'-1". Dunn also won the Texas Relays title earlier this season.
Dunn also competed in the high jump and was a member of the winning 4x100M relay and record breaking 4x200M relay at the 2-5A district meet.
