Tech Track Hosts Final Home Meet of Season

LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 3 Red Raiders and No. 15 Lady Raiders will be hosting its final home meet of the season at the Terry and Linda Fuller Track on Fri., April 22 starting with field events at 11 a.m. and running at 6 p.m.
Tech is coming home from the Mt. SAC Relays where the squad won four titles and had its best meet of the season. Bryce Brown (400M hurdles), Bryce Lamb (long jump) and Gil Roberts (400M) are leading the United States in their respective events after last week performances.
Roberts will be running the 400M this weekend in a field that includes teammates Shane Brathwaite, Latoy Williams, Zach Plinario and Markus Henderson. Former Red Raider and Olympian Andrae Williams will also run in the heat.
The women's 400M will be a good heat as Taylor Evans, Meshawn Graham, Tiffany Hines and Candace Jackson will run in the same heat. Evans, Graham and Jackson along with Kelsey Lloyd ran a season best of 3:33.36 which ranks in the top 10 of the NCAA.
Julian Wruck, Ifeatu Okafor and Kelly Closse will be competing at the throws field. Wruck is still ranked No. 1 in the NCAA in the discus. Both Okafor and Closse are in the top 20 in both the discus and shot put.
Teams competing this weekend will include Eastern New Mexico, Hardin-Simmons, McMurry, New Mexico Junior College, New Mexico Highlands, New Mexico State, Wayland Baptist, West Texas A&M.
The meet will start at the Terry and Linda Throws Field with the javelin at 11 a.m. Events at the track will start with the long jump at 3 p.m. and running will start at 6 p.m.
