LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech senior Omo Osaghae rolled to the Penn Relays title in the 110M hurdles with a school-record time of 13.35.
"I am really excited for Omo (Osaghae)," head coach Wes Kittley said after the meet. "He had a fabulous start and he dominated a very talented field. He dominated the race and I was real proud of him. I thought both the men's and women's 4x400M ran really well and I see good potential in both of those relays."
Osaghae won his second Penn Relay title of the weekend with his 110M hurdle victory. He beat LSU's Barrett Nugent by .35. Nugent is the only person to beat Osaghae this season. It is his sixth victory of the season.
The men's 4x400M relay ran a season best of 3:03.82 to place third. Latoy Williams, Brathwaite, Gil Roberts and Jamele Mason are now ranked No. 5 in the NCAA.
Teammate Brandon Tucker placed seventh with a 14.30 while Shane Brathwaite was eighth running a 14.77 both in the 110M hurdles.
Candace Jackson, Taylor Evans, Tiffany Hines and Kelsey Lloyd placed second in the college division of the 4x400M relay with a time of 3:36.84.
Tech will compete tomorrow in the Payton Jordan Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif.
