Tech Track to Run at Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays

LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 3 Red Raiders and No. 13 Lady Raiders will travel to Austin, Texas, this weekend for the 84th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays held at Mike A. Myers Stadium starting this Thurs., April 6.
The Red Raiders maintained its No. 3 ranking by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association while the women are No. 13 this week.
Tech is coming off its best meet of the outdoor season. The men's 400M hurdles school record was broken by Jamele Mason and Omo Osaghae (110M hurdles) and Julian Wruck (discus) moved into the top spot in the NCAA.
Candace Jackson was one of the highlights on the women's side with a wind-aided 22.89 in the 200M and is now No. 2 in the NCAA. The women's 4x100M that consists of Erica Alexander, Terra Evans, Jackson and Taylor Evans ran a season best of 44.04 and was just off breaking the school record of 43.97.
The Texas Tech hurdle crew was the big highlight for both the Red Raiders and Lady Raiders. Kelsey Lloyd is tied for eighth in the NCAA with her time of 13.25.
On the men's side four Red Raiders are in the top 10 of the 110M hurdles with Osaghae (1st), Shane Brathwaite (5th), Brandon Tucker (8th) and Jamele Mason (9th). Mason along with Bryce Brown is running extremely well in the 400M hurdles sitting at No. 2 and No. 3 in the NCAA.
Tech has the most combined men and women hurdlers ranked in the top 10 in the NCAA with seven.
Sophomore Bryce Lamb will be opening his outdoor season up this weekend in the long jump. Lamb earned first-team All-America honors during the indoor season. His best jump last season was 26'-5" (8.05M) jumped at the Texas Tech Dual meet. Lamb will compete on Friday at 12:30 p.m.
Tech will start competition on Thurs., April 7 with the men's `B' pole vault section followed by the men's 400M hurdles at 5 p.m.
