LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech head track & field coach Wes Kittley has added the No. 2 nationally and No. 1 ranked Texas high jumper in JaCorian Duffield (Randolph) to this year's signing class.
"What I love about JaCorian (Dufflied) is his tremendous upside," Kittley said. "He has only jumped for two years. He is a great athlete and a very good basketball. He is very young to track & field and we are very excited to get a 7'-2" high jumper and to see his potential blossom."
Duffield is from Universal City, Texas, and won the Texas 2A state championship in the high jump clearing 7'-0". He has a season-best clearance of 7'-2" which he has accomplished twice this season. The 7'-2" height ranks him No. 2 nationally and No. 1 in the state of Texas.
