Head Coach Wes Kittley
On the performance of the relay team tonight:
"It was a really exciting race. We came in and the kids competed really hard. I think if we won that heat, we could have been a place or two higher. But the kids came in very focused and competed hard. Indoors is tough, you have to get the lead, I think if we had the lead we would have been a place or two better. But I'm just really proud of them."
On the relay team's consistency this season:
"We really wanted that school record tonight, but what I love about that group is that they just continued to get better all year long. They have been really consistent and the last two races we have run have been the best. I'm really looking forward to them getting outside and I think it will help by building on that."
Assistant Coach Dion Miller:
On the performance of the relay team:
"We were hoping we could come in and break the school record, but we ran 3:34.51 at Iowa State and we were capable of running 3:33.50. Things didn't work out as planned, but I'm proud of the ladies, they did a great job. When you get to this meet it's all about competing, and they did a great job of competing. We are going to take this same effort into the outdoor season, and hopefully we are going to see some great things."
On the consistency of the relay team:
"This group has run consistent all year. If you can run consistent, you will see the big times at the end of the season."
On the team's confidence heading into Saturday:
"Their confidence is there, and I think they are ready to go show Texas Tech and the rest of the conference that we can really get it done."
