FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Texas Tech had three athletes compete at the Arkansas Last Chance meet Friday evening in hopes of reaching qualifying marks for the NCAA National Indoor meet next week.
Cory Duffield, Kyal Meyers and Ifeatu Okafor each competed in the meet held at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the University of Arkansas campus.
In the high jump competition, Duffield cleared 6'-11.50" on his second attempt - his second-best mark of the season. The freshman's mark was good enough for a fourth-place finish. Earlier this season,
Duffield cleared 7'-1.50" at the Red Raider Open on Feb. 4, and currently ranks No. 28 in the country in the high jump.
Meanwhile, in women's shot put, Okafor recorded her second-best mark of the season with a toss of 53'-3.50" in the second round of competition. She finished second in the event.
Meyers recorded a no-height in the pole vault after missing each of his three attempts at an opening height of 17'-4.50". Meyers entered the meet ranked No. 13 in the pole vault with a mark of 17'-7.75" which he cleared at the Red Raider Open on Feb. 4.
The NCAA will announce qualifiers for the NCAA National Indoor Meet on Monday.
