
Tech Heads South for UTEP Springtime Meet

Following a successful outdoor season opener at the Willie Williams Classic last weekend, the Texas Tech track and field team will travel south to El Paso to compete in the UTEP Springtime meet on Saturday.
The meet begins at 10 a.m. at Kidd Field in El Paso on the University of Texas-El Paso campus.
A competitive field featuring New Mexico, New Mexico State, Oral Roberts, West Texas A&M, Eastern New Mexico Junior College, South Plains Community College and West Texas A&M will join Tech for the one-day meet set to begin Saturday at 10 a.m. at Kidd Field in El Paso.
Texas Tech kicked off the 2012 outdoor season in style by grabbing 16 first-place finishes at the Willie Williams Classic. Texas Tech enters this weekend with 21 athletes ranked in the Top-10 individually in their respective events, including two that are ranked No. 1 nationally. Shane Brathwaite ranks No. 1 in the 110 meter hurdles while Ifeatu Okafor ranks first nationally in the women's shot put.
