Texas Tech enters the meet after beginning its 2012 outdoor season by competing in two meets away from Lubbock. Tech began the year at the Willie Williams Classic in Tucson, Ariz. and most recently sent a small group of athletes to compete at the UTEP Springtime meet.
Between the two meets Tech garnered 24 first-place finishes.
Entering the Texas Relays Tech has a total of 13 athletes ranked among the Top 10 nationally in nine separate events.
Senior Shane Brathwaite currently holds the top spot in the men's 110 meter hurdles after beginning his season with a personal-best time of 13.58 at the Willie Williams Classic.
Meanwhile, Jamele Mason, Shade Weygandt and Ifeatu Okafor each hold spots among the Top-5 in their respective events.
