
Pledger Finishes 10th in First Round of World Championships

BARCELONA, Spain - Texas Tech redshirt freshman LeTristan Pledger finished 10th in the qualifying round of the women's long jump competition at the World Junior Championships Thursday.
Pledger, a highly touted freshman from Kansas City who redshirted during the 2012 campaign, finished with a best mark of 6.08m (19'-11.25") on her third and final attempt.
Seven athletes advanced to the next round of competition. Pledger was the lone U.S. representative in the competition.
Pledger advanced to the World Junior Championships after finishing second with a mark of 6.23m (20'-5.25") at the U.S. Junior Championships in June.
