SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf team is tied for ninth place and in position for its third, top-10 finish this season following a 9-over par 297 on Monday at The Alamo Invitational at Briggs Ranch.
The Lady Raiders (293-297--590) are tied with No. 37 SMU and are four shots clear of Texas State in 11th place. No. 23 LSU leads the tournament at 13-under.
Senior Elin Arvidsson leads the charge for the Lady Raiders following a 2-over 74 on Sunday and a 1-over 73 on Monday and moved into a tie for 30th individually. She tallied three birdies and four bogeys to go with 11 pars - including three on the final three holes.
Fellow senior Stephanie Bertelsen (75-74--149), junior Gennai Goodwin (75-74--149) and junior Kimmy Hill (73-76--149) are all in a tie for 43rd at 5-over par. Junior Sarah Brown (71-79--150) is one stroke back in a tie for 51st at 6-over.
Bertelsen is tied with three other players in the tournament for the eagles (1) while Goodwin finds herself in the top five in both par 3 scoring (2.75) and par 5 scoring (4.5). Arvidsson is second overall with six birdies through two rounds.
Tech will tee off in the final round alongside Texas State and TCU at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday on holes 11-14. Fans can follow the action live on www.birdiefire.com .
