Tech Finishes Tied For 11th at Alamo Invitational

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf team shot its best team score on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 11th place at The Alamo Invitational at Briggs Ranch.
The Lady Raiders (293-297-292--882) tied with TCU and Texas while finishing ahead of Texas State and host UTSA. No. 23 LSU won the tournament with a 23-under par finish.
Senior Stephanie Bertelsen (75-74-71--220) continued to pace the squad and fired her best round of the week with a 1-under 71 on Tuesday to finish tied for 32nd. Bertelsen's four birdies helped her finish the round with a 3.78 average on par fours on the final day.
Senior Elin Arvidsson (74-73-75--222) and junior Kimmy Hill (73-76-73--222) were just two strokes behind Bertelsen in a tie for 44th while junior Sarah Brown (71-79-73--223) was only one more back in a tie for 51st. Brown tied for fifth-most pars on Tuesday with 13 to go with only three bogeys and a pair of birdies.
Junior Gennai Goodwin (75-74-76--225) finished off her fourth tournament of the fall in a tie for 57th.
Tech will head right back to the Hill Country this weekend for the Jim West Challenge hosted by Texas State. The tournament begins Sunday and will wrap up the fall slate for the Lady Raiders on Tuesday.
