Lady Raiders Tied for Third at Jim West

BOERNE, Texas - Junior Kimmy Hill fired a 2-over par 74 to help Texas Tech to a 15-over start to the 2014 Jim West Challenge at Tapatio Resort.
The Lady Raiders (303) are tied with Houston and East Carolina but trail second-place Missouri by only two strokes and leader Texas A&M by six. Tech is two shots clear of Oklahoma and seven ahead of Illinois and Kent State.
Hill fell to 3-over par on the front side after three-straight bogeys before stringing together two birdies to finish 1-under on the second nine.
Tech led the charge on the par threes with a 3.3 average including a pair of birdies on two by junior Gennai Goodwin. She is only one stroke behind Hill in 12th place while senior Elin Arvidsson is one more back in 18th after a 4-over 76.
Junior Sarah Brown (78) and senior Stephanie Bertelsen (79) rounded out the scores for the Lady Raiders. Senior Mariah Montoya carded a 12-over 84 as an individual.
Tech will head back out on the course for an 8 a.m. shotgun start Monday, and will be paired with A&M and Missouri in the final groups on holes one through four.
