Sadberry and LOng Named All-Tournament Team

LUBBOCK, Texas - For the first time since 2008 a pair of Texas Tech players have been named to the Houston College Classic All-Tournament team as freshman shortstop Ryan Long and junior left-handed pitcher Chris Sadberry both received the honor Sunday evening following the conclusion of the three-day weekend classic.
No. 26 Texas Tech came away with a victory on Sunday over No. 10 Rice, 2-1, while claiming its fourth win over a top-10 ranked opponent this season.
Sadberry earned the win for Tech pitching seven innings without allowing an earned run with two strikeouts and no walks against the Owls. He improved to 2-0 on the season in three starts with a 1.76 ERA in 15.1 innings with seven strikeouts and a .250 opponent batting average without allowing a walk all season.
Sadberry is just the third Red Raider pitcher to be named to the Houston College Classic All-Tournament Team - and the first since 2004. Sadberry is the first Red Raider left-handed pitcher to make the all-tourney team.
Long, who became the first Red Raider freshman and first Tech shortstop to be named to the Houston College Classic All-Tournament Team batted.400 (4-for-10) with a run, double and RBI in the three-day classic while posting a .538 on-base percentage with three walks.
Long is among team leaders on the season with a .343 (12-for-35) batting average with two doubles, five RBI and a .400 on-base percentage.
