LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's track and field team earned its second-straight top-10 national ranking Tuesday as the Red Raiders moved up two spots to No. 8 in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association computer rankings released today.
The No. 8 ranking marks the highest for the Red Raiders since appearing at No. 5 in the Week 7 poll of the 2012 season. The Lady Raiders, meanwhile, also made a leap in the rankings jumping three spots to No. 16 - matching their highest ranking of the year.
Tech is the highest ranked men's team in the Big 12, and one of three conference programs with both its men's and women's team in the top-20. The No. 8 Red Raiders and No. 16 Lady Raiders will both compete this week at the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.
