Texas Tech track & field will host a combined five indoor and outdoor meets in 2015.
LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Texas Tech track and field team officially released its 2015 schedule on Monday.
Texas Tech, coming off its second Big 12 outdoor men's title in school history, will host three indoor meets and two outdoor meets in 2015.
"It is so exciting to think about our 2015 indoor and outdoor schedule," Texas Tech head coach Wes Kittley said. "Red Raider fans will have multiple chances to see us run in both the indoor and outdoor seasons at home. Going to meets like the A&M Triangular and Tyson Invitational indoors along with the Texas Relays, Mt. SAC Relays and Drake Relays outdoors will give us a chance to compete against the best in the country. I could not be more excited."
Texas Tech begins the 2015 indoor campaign Jan. 16-17, by hosting the Texas Tech Open inside the Athletic Training Center on the Texas Tech campus. The Red Raiders will host two more meets in that location--The Masked Rider Open (Jan. 30-31), and the Red Raider Open (Feb. 20).
Texas Tech will also travel to multiple prestigious meets, including the Texas A&M Triangular (Jan. 24), and the Tyson Invitational (Feb. 13-14). The Big 12 Indoor Championships will be held Feb. 27-28, in Ames, Iowa, and the NCAA Indoor Championships will take place March 13-14, in Fayetteville, Ark.
The Red Raiders will begin the 2015 outdoor slate by traveling to San Antonio to compete in the UTSA Invitational, March 18-21.
The Terry and Linda Fuller Track & Field Complex, which played host to the 2014 Texas Tech Big 12 outdoor men's title, will host the Texas Tech Open April 3-4, and the Red Raider Open, on April 30.
Texas Tech will also compete at the Texas Relays (March 25-28), the Mt. SAC Relays (April 15-18) and the Drake Relays (April 23-25).
The Texas Tech men will attempt to defend their Big 12 outdoor title at the 2015 championships, which will take place May 15-17, in Ames, Iowa. The NCAA Outdoor Championships will be held June 10-13, in Eugene, Ore.
