GREENVILLE, S.C. - Senior Stephanie Bertelsen fired a 1-over 73 and junior Gennai Goodwin finished at even par for the week to lead Texas Tech to a third place finish Tuesday at the Lady Paladin Invitational hosted by Furman University.
It's the second consecutive top five finish for Tech in as many tournaments.
The Lady Raiders (293-290-300--883) finished six strokes ahead of No. 31 Florida State and 10 shots better than No. 25 North Carolina. Furman took home the team title with a 4-under finish while No. 29 Wake Forest finished just one stroke ahead of Tech at 18-over.
Goodwin (71-71-74--216) finished in a tie for fourth individually following a final round 74 on Tuesday. She tallied 11 of Tech's 44 birdies during the week and had the only other eagle on the team along with Bertelsen.
Bertelsen (75-74-73--222) and junior Sarah Brown (72-72-78--222) each tied for 17th at 6-over par. All three players have finished in the top 25 in both tournaments this season.
