Women's Golf Tied for Third After Two Rounds

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Sarah Brown carded a 3-over par 75 after a 1-over 73 on Monday to lead Texas Tech to a tie for third after the first two rounds of the Marilynn Smith / Sunflower Invitational at Alvamar Golf Club.
Tech (304-303--607) sits 11 shots behind second place Kansas State and 17 back of first place Kansas. The Lady Raiders are tied at 31-over with Oral Roberts and are two shots ahead of fifth-place Central Arkansas.
Freshman Gabby Barker, playing as an individual, finds herself in 10th place overall after a 76--73--149 total on day one. Senior Mariah Montoya, who is playing in her first collegiate tournament in more than a year, is tied for 13th at 6-over (76-74--150), followed by senior Stephanie Bertelsen (77-77--154), junior transfer Gennai Goodwin (78-77--155) and freshman Maddie Davis (83-81--164).
Tech will finish up the tournament on Tuesday at Alvamar Golf Club beginning at 8:30 a.m. CDT on holes six through nine. The Lady Raiders will play alongside Central Arkansas and Arkansas-Little Rock.
