• With its 59 points today, Texas Tech has snapped the school record for points per game at home in a season. The Red Raiders are averaging 59.7 points per game inside Jones AT&T Stadium, snapping the previous mark of 52.4 from the 2005 season.
• In six home games this season at Jones AT&T Stadium, Texas Tech has totaled 358 points, nine shy of the single-season school record set in 2005.
• This is the sixth time this season where the Red Raiders have scored at least 50 points which breaks the Texas Tech single-season record. Texas Tech had previously scored 50 or more points in five different games just once in 2005.
• Texas Tech has now scored 50 or more points against Big 12 foes a school-record four times this season.
• Texas Tech scored at least 50 points in all six games at Jones AT&T Stadium this season for the first time in program history.
• This is the fifth time all-time in the series between Texas Tech and Kansas State where the Red Raiders have scored at least 50 points. The Red Raiders also hit the 50-point mark in 1963, 2005, 2008 and 2009.
• Texas Tech has now scored at least 25 points in each of its 11 games this season, marking the first time in program history where the Red Raiders have done so.
• Texas Tech's 28 points to start the game marked its most ever in the first quarter against a conference opponent. Texas Tech had scored 28 points only twice previously in program history against Sam Houston State (2005) and Stephen F. Austin (2013).
• Texas Tech's 35 points in the first half marked the fifth time this year and third time during Big 12 play where the Red Raiders have totaled at least 30 points in the opening half.
• Texas Tech has now scored in 230 games dating back to the 1997 season, a streak that ranks 12th nationally and second in the Big 12 Conference.
• Texas Tech's 658 yards of total offense marked its 51st-straight game with at least 325 yards of total offense, the longest active streak in the FBS.
• With its 658 yards of total offense, Texas Tech has now recorded at least 600 yards of total offense in all six home games this season. The Red Raiders are averaging 661.3 yards of total offense at home this season.
• The Texas Tech defense totaled nine pass breakups in the victory, its most in a game this season.
• The Texas Tech defense forced Kansas State to punt seven times, matching the most for an opponent this season.
WASHINGTON BECOMES FIRST RED RAIDER TO RUSH FOR 200 YARDS SINCE 1999
• DeAndre Washington had quite the Senior Day on Saturday as he became the first Red Raider to rush for at least 200 yards since Shaud Williams against Colorado on Oct. 16, 1999. Washington rushed 27 times for 248 yards and three touchdowns against the Wildcats, marking the seventh-most rushing yards in a game in school history. It is the 27th time in program history where a Red Raider has rushed for at least 200 yards.
• Washington rushed for 100 yards in the first quarter alone, marking the fifth time this season and the ninth time in his career where he has eclipsed the 100-yard mark.
• Washington scampered a career-high 80 yards for Texas Tech's third touchdown of the first quarter. It was the longest run for a Red Raider since Eric Stephens went 86 yards against Northwestern during the 2011 TicketCity Bowl.
• With the 248-yard performance, Washington moved into eighth place on the Texas Tech single-season chart as he now has 1,282 yards on the season.
MAHOMES TOTALS OVER 300 YARDS PASSING TO CLOSE IN ON 4,000 FOR THE SEASON
• Even with Washington carrying the load in the rushing game, Texas Tech also found success in the air as Patrick Mahomes II was 33-of-42 for 384 yards and three touchdowns. It marked the 11th time in his career to pass for at least 300 yards.
• With the performance, Mahomes heads into the final game of the regular season nearing 4,000 yards on the season as he has now totaled 3,911 through 11 games. Texas Tech quarterbacks have passed for over 4,000 yards nine times in school history with the most recent being Seth Doege in 2012.
• Mahomes rushed for his ninth touchdown of the season with 11:30 remaining in the fourth quarter, moving the sophomore into a tie for second among Texas Tech quarterbacks in a single-season. He needs one more rushing touchdown to match Rodney Allison's school record from 1975.
NOTING THE RED RAIDERS
• Jakeem Grant eclipsed the 1,000 yard receiving mark for the season after catching four passes for 78 yards against Kansas State. He is the first Red Raider to reach 1,000 yards receiving in a season since Jace Amaro in 2013. In addition, Grant now needs 69 yards in the season finale against Texas to snap the Texas Tech career receiving mark as he moved into a tie for third place today with Lloyd Hill (1999-2003). He has 3,059 yards over his four-year career.
• Grant's 115 all-purpose yards enabled him to pass Donny Anderson (1963-65) into third place on Tech's all-time list. He now has 5,264 all-purpose yards.
• Justin Stockton was a regular in the endzone as he caught a pair of touchdown passes while also rushing for a touchdown as well. His three touchdowns marked the most in his career. Stockton recorded Texas Tech's opening touchdown with 12:08 remaining in the first quarter off a 17-yard pass from Patrick Mahomes II. He found the endzone again with 4:47 remaining in the opening quarter on a seven-yard rushing touchdown and then later added a 20-yard touchdown reception with 7:37 remaining in the third quarter.
• Devin Lauderdale set a career high with 10 receptions against the Wildcats. He totaled 94 yards in the victory, his most since recording 110 earlier this against TCU.
• J.J. Gaines forced his second fumble of the season with 6:19 remaining in the first quarter. It was the third forced fumble of his career.
• Gaines amassed a team-leading 13 tackles which included seven solo stops and a career-best 1.5 tackles for loss. It marked the second time he piled up 10-plus tackles and was one shy of his career-high of 14 stops at Oklahoma earlier this season.
• Micah Awe tallied 12 tackles, highlighted by 10 solo stops. He has registered double digit tackles in back-to-back games and six times overall for the season.
• Jah'Shawn Johnson recovered the forced fumble by J.J. Gaines midway through the first quarter. His four fumbles recovered today match the total from Utah State's Kyler Fackrell, who led the FBS in the category entering today.
• Michael Barden flipped the field on Kansas State early in the second quarter with a career-high 62 yard punt. His previous high was 58 yards earlier this year at Oklahoma. Barden added a 61-yard punt later in the quarter.
• Clayton Hatfield connected on a career-long 48 yard field goal with 5:14 remaining in the third quarter. It was the longest successful field goal for a Red Raider since Ryan Bustin connected on a 50-yarder at Texas State in 2012.
