Texas Tech's historic ride to the 2014 College World Series along with the excitement of the upcoming season has led to a sellout of baseball season tickets.
For the first time in school history, all baseball season tickets have been sold leaving only individual game tickets as an option for fans to attend home games this season at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park. Just over 2,500 season tickets have been sold for 2015, which more than doubles the 1,300 sold in 2014.
"Once again, our fans continue to demonstrate the loyalty and pride they share in Texas Tech Athletics," Athletics Director Kirby Hocutt said. "When you look at what was achieved last fall with football season ticket sales and now with baseball, it just goes to show how passionate Red Raider fans are. Coach Tadlock and our team are excited to take the field this weekend and look forward to the tremendous home field advantage that our fans will provide."
-- Kirby Hocutt
With the season ticket sellout, approximately 800 individual game tickets will be available for purchase on a game-by-game basis. Texas Tech students will continue to have 900 seats reserved for each home game.
To purchase individual game tickets, call the athletics ticket office at (806) 742-TECH or log on to www.texastech.com. The ticket office at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park will open two hours prior to first pitch on game days.
Texas Tech opens its 2015 season on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. against San Francisco at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park. The weekend series continues with a doubleheader at noon on Saturday and the series finale at noon on Sunday.
