TEXAS TECH
         - Improved to 42-24 all-time on Opening Day, including a 29-6 record at home.
         - Improved to 21-2 on Opening Day in Lubbock since 1986.
         - Broke a school record for home attendance on Opening Day (4,375)... previous record was        3,018 in 2003 vs. New Mexico.
         - Broke a school record for student attendance at a home game (1,225)... previous record        was 1,201 on March 28, 2014 vs. No. 12 Texas.
         - Won 17th consecutive home game - longest active home win streak in the nation.
         - Scored its most runs in an Opening Day game since 2009 (14).
         - Tallied its most runs in an inning (6 - 3rd inning) during an Opening Day game since        2006 (7 runs - 8th inning, vs. Louisiana-Monroe).
         - Marked its first time hitting two home runs on Opening Day since 2010 (Barrett Barnes -        2).
         - Was Tech's seventh straight Opening Day game at home (2009-15).
         - Improved all-time record to 1,547-1,218-8 (66 years)... Improved all-time home record to        1,009-466-5.
         - Six Red Raiders (4 freshmen) made their career debuts, including a pair of freshmen who        pitched in relief (Jacob Patterson, Jackson Lancaster).
         - Red Raiders pitched two freshmen on Opening Day for the first time since 2006 (A.J.        Ramos, Cory Large).
         - Hit two home runs on Opening Day for the first time since 2010 (Barrett Barnes - 2).

RHP Ryan Moseley (ND, 4.0 IP, 2 H,        3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 SO - 71 PITCHES)
         - Made his first career start on Opening Day... became the sixth Red Raider underclassman        (freshmen/sophomore) to start for Tech since 1987.
RHP Dominic Moreno (1.2 IP, 4 H,        1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 SO)
         - Earned fourth career save.
         - Became the first Red Raider to pitch on Opening Day in three straight years since A.J.        Ramos (2006-08).
LHP Jacob Patterson (W, 3.0 IP,        3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 1 SO)
         - Earned the win during career debut pitching three innings in relief.
         - Became the first Red Raider freshman to earn the win on Opening Day since 2004 (Randy        Gattis).
         - Is just the second Red Raider (Gattis) over the past 28 years (since 1987) to earn a win        on Opening Day.
CF Stephen Smith (1-FOR-3, 2 R,        HR, RBI)
         - Hit second career home run with a solo shot over the left-field wall in the fourth        inning.
         - Became the first Red Raider to homer on Opening Day since 2011 (Barrett Barnes).
2B Bryant Burleson (2-FOR-5, 1        RBI)
         - Recorded 45th career multi-hit game.
         - Leads all active Red Raiders with 168 career games played (155 starts).
LF Tyler Neslony (1-FOR-5, , 2B,        3 RBI)
         - Tied the game at 3-3 with a bases-clearing double down the left-field line in the third        inning to spark a six-run frame.
1B Eric Gutierrez (2-FOR-3, R,        2B, RBI, BB)
         - Played in/started in 123 consecutive games - spanning his entire Red Raider career        (2013-Present).
         - CAREER ON OPENING DAY: .500 (5-for-10), 2 2B, 2 RBI).
         - Posted 35th career multi-hit games.
SS Tim Proudfoot (0-FOR-3, R,        BB)
         - Made fourth straight start on Opening Day at shortstop.
         - Became only the third player in school history to start four straight years at shortstop        on Opening Day (Ronnie Matson, 1973-76; late Brooks Wallace, 1977-80).
C Tyler Floyd (2-FOR-3, 2 R, HR,        RBI)
         - Hit his first career home run with a solo shot over the left-field wall in the eighth        inning to give Tech a 9-6 lead.
         - Notched fourth career multi-hit game.
