Texas Tech Finishes Sixth in California

IRVINE, Calif. -- The Texas Tech women's golf team finished sixth after its third and final round on Tuesday at the UC Irvine Invitational.
Tech (286-296-302--884) finished better than five ranked teams ahead of it in the current Golfstat rankings, including No. 5 Stanford (300-298-303--901).
Junior Kimmy Hill (68- 72 -76 -- 216) led the way for the Lady Raiders with a tie for seventh place, shooting an average 3.96 on par fours. Junior Sarah Brown (73-72-75 -- 220) finished the tournament tied for 21st with an average 4.73 on par fives and tied for fifth-most pars in the tournament.
Senior Stephanie Bertelsen (68-79-75 -- 222) tied for 27th and Lauren Mason (80-73-76--229) finished the tournament tied for 47th in her first appearance for Tech. Senior Elin Arvidsson tied her first round score with a 5-over 77, finishing the tournament in 68th (77-87-77--241).
The next tournament appearance for the Lady Raiders will be March 16 at the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz.
