Tech Finishes Second at Intercollegiate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Texas Tech fired a 9-under par 279 in the final round Tuesdayto finish in second place at 8-under in the Web.com Intercollegiateat Marsh Landing Country Club.
No. 43 Tech (287-290-279--856) moved up two spots from fourth place after two rounds. The Lady Raiders outlasted No. 36 Florida State by five strokes and No. 41 Ohio State by eight strokes. Theyfinished just five behind tournament champion No. 32 Miami (851).
Gabby Barker (74-70-67--211) and Kimmy Hill (70-68-73--211) led the Lady Raiders in scoring once again this week. Both finished tied for third overall in the standings with Hill playing as an individual this week.
Barker led the charge on the final day by carding a career-low, 5-under 67 - which also tied the tournament low shot by Miami's Delfina Acosta in the opening round Monday. Barker birdied seven holes with nine pars and just two bogeys. She ended the week with 13 birdies, the second-most by any player this week.
Hill and Lauren Mason (68-76-69--213) each tied for the third-most birdies with 12 each as Mason finished in a tie for fifth 3-under par.
Sarah Brown (71-77-70--218) recovered with a 2-under round on Tuesday to tie for 16th. It was her fourth finish inside the top 20 this season.
Elin Arvidsson (74-72-74--220) and Stephanie Bertelsen (79-72-73--224) rounded out the team scores by finishing in ties for 25th and 40th, respectively.
The Lady Raiders led all 17 teams in par 5 scoring at 11-under par this week (4.82 average) and were second in birdies with 48. Tech has posted 141 birdies in nine rounds the last three weeks (15.7 per round).
Tech will take off the next 10 days before heading to Dallas on April 10 for the SMU Invitational.
