Tech in Fourth at SMU Invitational

Gabby Barker is tied for ninth at the SMU Invitational.
DALLAS -- Three Lady Raiders are in a tie for ninth to help lead Texas Tech in fourth place after two rounds at the SMU Invitational.
No. 40 Tech (303-291--594) is 18-over par -- 12 shots ahead of No. 31 Iowa State and No. 27 Miami. The Lady Raiders are two shots behind No. 37 Purdue and eight shots behind No. 24 UC Davis. No. 14 Oklahoma State leads all teams at 3-over (579).
Sarah Brown (70-77--147), Lauren Mason (72-75--147) and Gabby Barker (75-72--147) are all tied for ninth at 3-over through 36 holes. Brown, playing as an individual this week, led the tournament at 2-under after 18 holes on Friday. She played a near flawless second nine, birdying four of her final seven holes on the way in to a 34.
Elin Arvidsson (78-72--150) moved up 20 spots after 18 holes into a tie for 22nd while fellow senior Stephanie Bertelsen (83-72--155) moved up 25 spots as well following an even par score in the second round.
Kimmy Hill, who came into this week ranked No. 92 in the nation, rounded out the scores with rounds of 78 and 77 to move into a tie at 44th with Bertelsen.
The Lady Raiders will tee off in the third and final round at 8 a.m. on holes four through six alongside Houston and Kansas.
