SAN ANTONIO -- Three Lady Raiders finished on the Big 12 All-Tournament Team and paced Texas Tech to a third-place finish after a 9-over par 297 on Sunday in the final round of the Big 12 Conference Women's Golf Championship at The Dominion Country Club.
No. 39 Tech (289-294-297--880) beat out No. 37 Iowa State by one stroke and No. 11 Oklahoma State by four strokes. No. 26 Baylor won the team title while Kenzie Neisen of OSU took the individual title in a playoff over Baylor's Laura Lonardi.
Senior Stephanie Bertelsen (70-73-74--217) finished tied for fifth at 1-over par while juniors Kimmy Hill (74-72-74--220) and Sarah Brown (74-74-72--220) tied for 10th at 4-over par. All three were named to the Big 12 All-Tournament Team.
Freshmen Gabby Barker (74-75-77--226) and Lauren Mason (71-75-80--226) ended their first Big 12 Championship in a tie for 25th at 10 over.
Tech narrowed the gap to within six shots at the turn after playing the first nine at 1-under par as a team, but struggled down the stretch to finish in third. It tied Tech's highest finish in a Big 12 Conference tournament. The Lady Raiders finished third in 1999.
The team now awaits its NCAA Regional destination when the announcements are made at 6 p.m. CT, Monday on the Golf Channel's Golf Central. Tech is poised to make its fifth regional in six seasons under head coach JoJo Robertson.
