Plenette Pierson Represents West In WNBA All-Star Game

Plenette Pierson, a 2014 inductee into the Texas Tech Hall of Fame, played in the WNBA All-Star Game, on Saturday.
LUBBOCK, Texas -- Former Lady Raider superstar Plenette Pierson was named a WNBA All-Star, as a member of the West team, last week.
Pierson has enjoyed a great season so far for the Tulsa Shock, averaging 12.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, and shooting 83% from the free throw line. Tulsa is currently 10-8 this season, and in third place in the Western Conference.
Pierson has won two WNBA championships, and won the league's inaugural Sixth Woman of the Year Award, in 2007. This is her first selection to a WNBA All-Star team.
During her time at Texas Tech, Pierson was named an All-American in both 2001 and 2003. She ranks top-10 all-time at Texas Tech in a variety of statistical categories, including sixth in points (1,602), and eighth in points per game (15.4). She was inducted into the Texas Tech Hall of Fame in 2014.
Pierson scored seven points for the West All-Stars in a 117-112 win over the East on Saturday.
