September 01, 2015 | Women's Golf
LUBBOCK, Texas -After the highest finish in school history, the Texas Tech Women's golf team will begin the 2015-16 season on September 14 in Fort Collins, Colo., followed by the Jim West Challenge in Boerne, Texas in the first week of October.
"We are really looking forward to this season," said head coach JoJo Robertson. "We have a great tournament schedule planned that will allow us to travel across the country and play some top golf courses as well as stay at home in April and play in front of friends and family. I can't wait to get the season started and watch our team compete."
The season will consist of 10 regular season tournaments before Big 12 play begins at the Dominion Country Club in San Antonio, Texas at the start of May.
For the fall season, The Lady Raiders make stops in Colorado, Boerne, and Austin before ending fall play in San Antonio at the Briggs Ranch Golf Club.
The spring season will begin in the middle of February, when the Lady Raiders head to Puerto Rico for the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in San Juan. The next tournaments take place in Miami, FL, for the Hurricane invitational, and Charleston, South Carolina, for the Briar's Creek Invitational. The end of March will take the Lady Raiders to Kennesaw, Georgia before heading to Dallas, TX for the SMU invitational, followed by the Red Raider Invitational held at the Rawls Course in Lubbock, TX, to end regular season play.
This should be an exciting year for the Lady Raiders, as they have four returning players on their Roster, plus three new additions. The Seniors, Sarah Brown and Kimmy Hill, were both named part of the Big 12 All-Tournament team for the Spring 2015 season, and will both be returning in the 2015-2016 season. Sophomores Lauren Mason and Gabby Barker will also be returning after strong performances last season. Freshmen Emma Ballard, Caralyn Barker and Mami Yamamoto will also be joining the Red Raiders this season.
