WASHINGTON POSTS CAREER DAY, MOVES INTO TOP 10 FOR CAREER RUSHING YARDS
? DeAndre Washington set a career high with four rushing touchdowns, which marked the most for a Red Raider since Baron Batch rushed for four against Kansas in 2009.
? Washington rushed for a career-high 188 yards, breaking his previous mark of 186 yards he set in 2014 at Iowa State. It was the sixth 100-yard rushing performance of Washington's career and his second already this season.
? Washington rushed for 107 yards in the first half alone, marking the second time in his career where he has eclipsed the 100-yard mark before halftime. Washington previously totaled 124 rushing yards in the first half last season at Iowa State.
? Washington moved into the top 10 for career rushing yards as his 107 yards in the first half alone passed the career totals for both Donny Anderson (1963-65; 2,280 yards) and Shannon Woods (2005-08; 2,249 yards). Washington ended the game in eighth place all-time at Texas Tech as he now has 2,394 career rushing yards.
NOTING THE RED RAIDERS
? Devin Lauderdale set up Texas Tech's opening touchdown as he caught a screen pass and went 59 yards. He added a 37-yard pass later in the game, giving him five plays this season that have gone over 25 yards.
? Lauderdale finished with 110 receiving yards, marking the third 100-yard receiving game of his career. Lauderdale also went over 100 yards in 2014 against West Virginia (112 yards) and earlier this year against Sam Houston State (150 yards).
? Pete Robertson blocked Texas Tech's first field goal of the season early in the second quarter. It marked the first time a Red Raider had blocked a field goal since Kerry Hyder did so at Oklahoma in 2013.
? Micah Awe snapped his career high with 13 tackles against the Horned Frogs. His previous career high was 12 tackles in 2014 against Texas.
? Clayton Hatfield connected on a career-high 37-yard field goal with 44 seconds remaining in the third quarter. His previous career high was a 33-yarder earlier this season against UTEP.
? Patrick Mahomes II recorded the sixth 300-yard passing game of his career in just his eighth career start. The sophomore finished 25-of-45 for 392 yards and two touchdowns. He has gone over 300 passing yards in three of four games so far this season.
? Jonathan Giles put together the best game of his young career as he had career highs for receptions (3) and matched his career mark for 12 yards.
? Justin Stockton's 51-yard touchdown reception with 5:55 remaining in the fourth quarter marked the longest catch of his career. He has scored a touchdown in all four games this season.
TEAM NOTES
? The Texas Tech offense did not have a turnover for the second time this season. The Red Raiders also did not surrender a turnover against UTEP earlier this year.
? The Texas Tech offense recorded six plays over 35 yards today - five passing and one rushing.
? The Texas Tech offense had two receivers - Devin Lauderdale and Jakeem Grant - go over 100 yards for the first time since facing West Virginia in 2014.
