Lauren Mason finished in a tie for 11th overall Monday to lead Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech recorded its lowest round of the Jim West Challenge on Monday as the Lady Raiders finished in seventh place following a 3-under 285 final round at The Club at Carlton Woods located in The Woodlands, Texas.

The Lady Raiders wrapped the tournament with a 3-over 867 with a final card. Tech previously fired a 6-over opening round Sunday morning that was followed by an even-par second round later that afternoon.

"I'm really pleased with the way we played," Tech head coach JoJo Robertson said. "We fought back each round after a slow start. It was a great course and a strong field and we hung in there."

Lauren Mason was Tech's highest finisher as her even-par 72 final round placed her in a tie for 11th overall. She concluded the tournament with a 3-under 213 final score that matched the lowest of her career (2015 Web.com Intercollegiate).

Gabby Barker and Sofia Garcia both ended the event at even par overall to finish in a tie for 23rd. Barker completed the final 18 holes with an even-par 72 while Garcia, playing in her first collegiate tournament, shot a 3-under 69 that was the lowest for a Lady Raider this season.

Caralyn Barker recorded Tech's other even-par final round of the day to finish in a tie for 53rd overall. She finished 9-over for the tournament, one stroke better than teammate Mami Yamamoto, who shot a 3-over final round of her own.

Florida State held onto its large first-day lead to win the team title as the fourth-ranked Seminoles finished 24-under for the tournament, seven strokes better than second place Kent State. Miami, Texas and Texas A&M rounded out the top five.

The Lady Raiders return to the links in just a week as Tech will take part in the Betsy Rawls Invitational beginning next Monday at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin. Tech finished the event in second place a year ago thanks in part to a Gabby Barker, who claimed in the individual title.
