Texas Tech heads to Manhattan on Saturday night for a 6 p.m. kickoff on ESPNU
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech heads on the road for the first time during Big 12 play this Saturday when the Red Raiders travel to the Little Apple to face the Kansas State Wildcats. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. with television coverage provided on ESPNU.

GAMEDAY STORYLINES
- The Red Raiders are coming off a 55-19 victory in their Big 12 opener this past Thursday against Kansas. Patrick Mahomes II and Nic Shimonek threw four touchdowns each in the win which marked Texas Tech's 10th-straight in the series against the Jayhawks.
- Saturday's game will pit the nation's top scoring offense in Texas Tech against the Big 12's leader for scoring defense in Kansas State. The Red Raiders are averaging a FBS-leading 59.5 points per game this season while K-State is allowing just 12.5 points per game.
- This will be the 17th all-time meeting between Texas Tech and Kansas State as the Red Raiders are 9-7 against the Wildcats following a 59-44 victory last season in Lubbock. The Wildcats lead the series in Manhattan where K-State is 4-2 all-time versus the Red Raiders.
- The Red Raiders will be looking for their first win over Kansas State in Manhattan since the 2008 season when Texas Tech recorded a 58-28 victory. K-State has won each of the past two meetings in the Little Apple with a 55-24 win in 2012 and then a 45-13 victory in 2014.
- Texas Tech is looking to improve to 2-0 in Big 12 Conference play for the first time since 2013 when the Red Raiders defeated Kansas, Iowa State and West Virginia to open its league slate.
- The Red Raiders boast the nation's top offense through five weeks of the season as Texas Tech leads the country in scoring offense (59.5Â points per game), total offense (664.3 per game) and passing offense (547.8 per game).
- Texas Tech put together one of its best defensive performances in recent memory against Kansas as the Red Raiders held the Jayhawks to just 296 yards of total offense and 19 points. It marked the fewest points surrendered to a Big 12 opponent since the Red Raiders topped No. 24 TCU, 20-10, in 2013.
- In 42 games as head coach, Kliff Kingsbury has guided the Red Raider offense to at least 500 yards of total offense 26 times during his tenure, including all four games this season. In addition, Texas Tech is the only school in the country to score at least 50 points in every game so far this season.
