• Marked Texas Tech's second-straight win in the College Classic as the Red Raiders closed the 2014 event with a 2-1 victory over No. 10 Rice. Tech has never won three-straight games in the College Classic.
• Improved Texas Tech to 3-5 all-time against Houston in the College Classic.
• Marked the first one-run game against Houston in the College Classic since the Red Raiders dropped a 5-4 decision in 2008.

LONG CONTINUES TEXAS TECH'S SUCCESS WITH TWO OUTS
• Ryan Long's two-out, two-run RBI marked the 24th run scored by Texas Tech this season with two outs in the inning. That total is nearly half of the Red Raiders' 50 combined runs this season.
• Long leads all Red Raiders with six two-out RBI this season.
• The multi-RBI game was Long's second of the season and seventh of his career. He is tied for the team high for multi-RBI performances.
Hayden Howard
• Earned his first career win after allowing an unearned run off two hits, a walk and four strikeouts.
• Surrendered just an unearned run off five hits in his three appearances this season (seven complete innings).
Stephen Smith
• Connected on his first home run of the season and the 12th of his career with a solo shot in the fourth inning.
Michael Davis
• Recorded his second multiple-hit game of the year after finishing 2-for-2 with a hit-by-pitch.
• Marked the ninth multiple-hit game of his career.
Davis Martin
• Recorded his second save of the season after shutting out Houston in the ninth inning.
• Has earned a decision in all three of his appearances this season (1-0, 2 saves).
• First Red Raider freshman to record multiple saves in a season since teammate Ryan Moseley had three in 2014.
• First Red Raider to record two saves over the first six games of a season since John Neely in 2011.
