No. 19 Texas Tech Travels To Denver For Exhibition Match
August 12, 2016 | Women's Soccer
Red Raiders will travel to Denver, Colo., for their lone exhibition match of 2016
This is the fourth consecutive season where Texas Tech and Denver have met in the preseason, with the Red Raiders boasting a 4-0 record against the Pioneers following a 4-1 victory a year ago.
The Red Raiders welcome back 17 letterwinners and seven starters from their 2015 squad that finished 15-4-5 overall after advancing to the second round of the NCAA Championship for the fourth-straight season, and claimed the program's first ever Big 12 Championship.
Denver was picked to finish fourth in the Summit League this year as Head coach Jeff Hooker heads into his 25th season with the Crimson and Gold, looking to rebound off the Pioneers 4-12-1 2015 season.
The match will be the only exhibition contest for the Red Raiders before opening the 2016 season on Aug. 19 at the John Walker Soccer Complex. Texas Tech will open the season with a Friday night match against New Mexico, before hosting Missouri State on Sunday evening.
