FOX Sports Networks to Televise 10 Men's Basketball Games

The Red Raiders will have every regular season game televised in 2016-17 with the season opener against Houston Baptist carried by FOX College Sports on Friday, November 11th.
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech men's basketball program has added 10 television appearances to its 2016-17 schedule announced Friday by the Texas Tech Athletics Department and Red Raider Sports Properties, a division of Learfield Sports.
Every regular season and postseason game during the 2016-17 season will be televised. The Red Raiders will make five appearances on FOX Sports Southwest in addition to three games on the school's third-tier network, Texas Tech TV on FOX Sports Southwest Plus.
A pair of games will be carried nationally across the FOX College Sports platform which include the season opener versus Houston Baptist (Nov. 11 – 6:30 p.m.). The Red Raiders also take on Incarnate Word (Nov. 30 – 6:30 p.m.) on FCS.
Texas Tech will square off against North Texas (Nov. 15 – 6:30 p.m.), UTSA (Dec. 7 – 8 p.m.) and Nicholls State (Dec. 14 – 8 p.m.) on FOX Sports Southwest Plus. The UTSA and Nicholls State games are part of doubleheaders with the Lady Raiders at the United Supermarkets Arena.
The Red Raiders will meet Eastern Kentucky (Nov. 19 – 1 p.m.), Idaho State (Nov. 25 – 2 p.m.), Rice (Dec. 3 – 1 p.m.), Longwood (Dec. 21 – 4 p.m.) and TCU (Jan. 18 – 6:30 p.m.) on FOX Sports Southwest.
Texas Tech, under the direction of first-year coach Chris Beard, returns five players who started 10-plus games from last year's team which posted a 19-13 record and earned the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2007 when Beard served as an assistant coach.
Texas Tech brings back its leading scorer (Aaron Ross – 12.5 PPG), leading rebounder (Zach Smith – 7.5 RPG) and leading assist man (Keenan Evans – 2.6 APG) from Big 12 play last season. The Red Raiders also return over 65 percent of their points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals from 2015-16.
Texas Tech has added a pair of National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Americans in Niem Stevenson and Shadell Millinghaus. The Red Raiders also have brought in two graduate transfers in Anthony Livingston, an All-Sun Belt performer at Arkansas State, along with Giovanni McLean who led Quinnipiac in scoring last season. Former four-star recruit Brandone Francis and Tommy Hamilton IV have transferred to Texas Tech and will sit out the 2016-17 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
More season tickets have already been sold for 2016-17 than all of last season. Fans are encouraged to purchase season tickets now to reserve the best available seats.
