Tech sweeps Georgia State in doubles action, to face Panthers in singles tomorrow
ATHENS, Ga. –Texas Tech Women's Tennis wrapped up day two of the Georgia Bulldog Classic with a clean sweep over Georgia State in doubles action. Â
The doubles pair of Lynn Kiro and Alex Valenstein defeated Georgia State's Grosheva and Kamoe (6-2) while Alba Cortina-Pou and Felicity Maltby beat Muminovic and Rehse, 6-1. Reagan Collins and Sarah Dvorak completed the sweep with a 6-0 win over Georgia State's Golynker and Ramirez.
Freshmen Cortina-Pou and Collins snagged wins over Georgia in singles action. Maltby defeated Georgia's Mariana Gould (3-6, 6-3, 6-2) to claim the Lady Raiders' third match win against a tough Georgia team.
Sabrina Federici and Maltby teamed up for the second doubles matchup of the day and defeated Georgia Tech's Gizdova and Otsuka, 6-3.
Texas Tech concludes the tournament tomorrow in singles play against Georgia State.
