Doubles teams Jackson/Kiro, Cortina-Pou/Collins to compete in flight consolation finals
NORMAN, Okla. – Texas Tech Women's Tennis wrapped up day one of the Oklahoma Fall Invitational Friday afternoon in Norman, Okla.

Katelyn Jackson, Lynn Kiro and Alba Cortina-Pou advanced to the quarterfinals of the singles draws.
Â
Jackson defeated Wichita State's Tanaporn Thongsing in comeback fashion after dropping the first set, 7-6, with six tiebreaks. Kiro took a two-setter (6-2, 6-3) over conference foe Ana Garcia Navas of Kansas State. In flight two, Cortina-Pou picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win over Wichita State's Marija Mastilovic.

In doubles action, Jackson and Kiro dropped the quarterfinals match to Kansas State's Stretton and Garcia Navas, 6-4. The two continued through the consolation bracket, advancing to the finals set for tomorrow at 9 a.m.

Cortina-Pou and Collins battled with SMU's Wright and Sharapova, but fell 7-6 with six tiebreaks in the quarterfinals. The duo advanced through the consolation bracket and will also play in the consolation finals tomorrow morning.

The tournament will continue Saturday at 9 a.m. with the final round of doubles followed by the singles quarterfinals.
